Here are some useful expressions to use with emails:

  • What’s your email address?
  • Could I get your email address, please?
  • What’s your company’s email address, please?
  • Could you spell that, please?
  • Is that all lower case?
  • Is that all one word?
  • I’ll send the email as soon as I get to the office.
  • Did you get the email I sent last week?
  • I’m sorry but I haven’t had time to reply to your email yet.
  • Could you forward that email to me, please?
  • Could you please forward that email to everyone on the list?

Role Play 1: Introducing a Colleague

Scenario: you are introducing a colleague to another person via email.

Characters:

– You (Person A)

– Your Colleague (Person B)

– The Person You Are Introducing Your Colleague To (Person C)

Script:

Person A: Hi [Person C], I’d like you to meet my colleague, [Person B]. 

Person C: Nice to meet you, [Person B]. Can I have your email address to stay in touch? 

Person B: Sure! My email address is [name]@[company].com. That’s [n-a-m-e] at [c-o-m-p-a-n-y] dot com.

Role Play 2: Exchanging Contact Information

Scenario: You are at a networking event and want to exchange email addresses with a new contact.

Characters:

– You (Person A)

– New Contact (Person B)

Script:

Person A: It was great talking with you! Can we exchange email addresses to stay in touch? 

Person B: Absolutely. My email is [name][number]@[provider].com. That’s [n-a-m-e][n-u-m-b-e-r] at [p-r-o-v-i-d-e-r] dot com. 

Person A: Got it. Mine is [yourname]@[domain].com. That’s [y-o-u-r-n-a-m-e] at [d-o-m-a-i-n] dot com.

Role Play 3: Customer Service Call

Scenario: You are calling customer service to get information and need to provide your email address.

Characters:

– You (Customer, Person A)

– Customer Service Representative (Person B)

Script:

Person B: Thank you for calling [Company Name] customer service. How can I assist you today? 

Person A: Hi, I need some information about my order. Can I give you my email address to look it up? 

Person B: Certainly. Please provide your email address.
