What is a Solar Eclipse?

A solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, blocking sunlight and casting a shadow on our planet. Depending on the alignment, the eclipse can be partial, total, or annular. For a short period, day can turn into twilight, temperatures may drop, and the world feels strangely still.
