In pairs brainstorm for 10 minutes and write down predictions about the business world or your own company in the year 2025, using the future simple tense (“will + base verb”). Then show them to the rest of the class
Examples of predictions:
“Our company will launch a new product in 2025.”
“The business world will rely heavily on virtual meetings and remote work.”
“In 2025, our marketing team will focus more on social media advertising.”
Follow-up:
Class discussion: After students have shared their predictions, discuss about them.
Theory: Future Simple Tense
What is the Future Simple Tense?
We use the future simple tense to talk about things that will happen in the future.
We use the word “will” followed by the base form of the verb (the verb without “to”).
How to Make a Sentence:
Positive Sentence: Subject + will + base verb.
Example: “I will finish the report tomorrow.”
Negative Sentence: Subject + will not (won’t) + base verb.
Example: “We won’t have a meeting next week.”
Question: Will + subject + base verb?
Example: “Will you attend the conference next month?”
When Do We Use the Future Simple Tense?
To talk about future plans or decisions:
Example: “I will meet the client tomorrow.”
To make predictions (when we think something will happen in the future):
Example: “The company will grow next year.”
To make offers or promises:
Example: “I will help you with the project.”
Key Words for Future Simple:
Tomorrow: “I will call you tomorrow.”
Next week/month/year: “We will travel next month.”
In the future: “Technology will change in the future.”
Summary:
Use “will” for talking about the future.
Will + base verb makes the sentence simple and clear.
It’s a very common way to talk about the future in business or everyday life.
