AT THE AIRPORT

 

DISCUSSION:What do you usually buy when you are at an airport?How many airports have you been to in your lifetime?What was your favourite airport? Why?Do you travel for work?

 

ACTIVITY: vocabulary.

 

LISTENING ACTIVITY: listen to a traveller meeting his guide at a Terminal. Which city is he in?

 

  • Have you ever had to wait at the airport many hours for a second flight ?

ACTIVITY: work in pairs. Plan a tour for people who have a stopover at your nearest airport. use the questions to help you:

  • How are you going to get to the town or city centre?
  • What are you going to see, and in what order?
  •  Where and when are you going to have lunch?
  • What time are you going to leave to get back to the airport?

SPEAKING ACTIVITIES: work in pairs choose one of the options suggested below and have a conversation.

 

ROLEPLAY 1: student A is a traveller who has a stopover from 9 am to 3.30 pm. Student B works for a Travel Agency. Have a conversation using the itinerary planned in the prevous exercise.

 

ROLEPLAY 2: student A is a tourist who is looking for information about free tours in Berlin and calls a Travel Agency. Student B works at the Travel Agency which offers the tour that you can find clicking the link below. Have a conversation.
